Ichi-go ichi-e (一期一会)

The best way I can explain this concept to those of you who have never been to Japan is to say "once in a lifetime chance"..or, never again JUST LIKE THIS. Ichi go ichi e, is the Japanese belief that everything happens at it's appointed time at exactly the right time for exactly the right reason. If you've studied Buddism, this makes sense. If you were, like me, raised southern baptist, it takes some time to get used to. Either way, in my past four years here in the land of the rising sun, I'm beginning to understand that the saying is really true, no matter the language in which it is presented.
So I say to all of you...please know that everything in your life is happening because it should in this very moment. And you, no matter what your feelings on the matter..can handle everything that comes your way. For those of you who habla Bible...if it were not so, He would have told us (a la John 14). For those of you who don't...please remember ichi go, ichi e...one life...one chance..one meeting. Make this one your best.
